Yesterdays is a progressive rock band based in Cluj Napoca (Romania/Transylvania). They live in Romania as romanians but they are ethnically Hungarians.
Formed in 2000 the band plays progressive rock, a mixture of the wonderful vintage sound of the seventies and the modern sound of the progressive rock including elements from jazz and pop music. Progressive rock music must be in progression, on it's way to modern times, exploring new areas beyond the land of mellotron and minimoog. :) This is sort of an ars poetica for Yesterdays. Take all the music you love from the sixties and seventies and write music which is progressive in the 21st Century. And that's about it.

The founder of the band, Bogáti-Bokor Ákos was also guitarist of the late You and I (the well known hungarian symphonic prog band, until its disbanding). In december of 2005 three members of Yesterdays played in You and I's last show: "Exit - Acoustic".

After You and I's disbanding, Ákos started the recording process of the first Yesterdays album "Holdfénykert" (which means Moonlit Garden). This symphonic prog concept album is about an impossible love. This is an "inner garden" of thoughts, feelings... You can find strong acoustic guitar work, heavy and virtuoso keyboard parts (on Hammond, Moog), and mellow sounds of a mellotron! If you love the vocal harmonies in Yes, the vintage sounds and the symphonic progrock, you are invited to listen to this album.

The basic aim of the band is to create and play an interesting fusion of traditional Hungarian music (well, the taste of it) and progressive rock and to use the beloved vintage instruments of the seventies, like Mellotron, MiniMoog and Hammond organ. Be it acoustic or electric, the music of Yesterdays goes beyond simply imitating its progressive roots, it is very "yesterdaysistic"... and it is for the future.
